The process is really simple:
    • Sand lightly the surface of the dominoes. This allows better coverage of the paint.
    • Glue the dimensional elements. I used polymer clay faces and hands, using industrial strength glue (E6000). Allow to dry.
    • Apply a coat of silver all over the dominoes and allow to dry.
    • Apply a coat of black acrylic paint and remove excess paint with paper towel. This has to be done quickly or the black paint dries.
    • Paint the inside of the dominoes black.
    • Glue the black organza ribbon to the sides of the dominoes and the orange organza ribbon around the dominoes. I used E6000 glue to do this.
    • Glue two metal bead caps to the bottom of each domino. This are the feet and help the book to stand. Used E6000 glue for this step also.
    • Color and scan images.
    • Re-size image as desired and make an accordion
    •  insert for the book.
    • Glue each end of the accordion insert to a domino (see Photos)
    • Tie a bow to each side of the book.
    • Add the beads to the top of the book, careful to glue them just to one side of the book. I glued them to the front of the book, using a hot glue gun.
Enjoy your book, just imagine the possibilities!
I love that it looks like stone.
Now hop over to Steph's blog, she has something special for you.
