Challenge # 8 at Poisoned Peas Please and Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween

Hi everyone!!!
Welcome to our new challenge at Poisoned Peas Please, an alternative art challenge blog.
The theme for the third challenge is :

Sugar Skulls / Day of the Dead!

we want to see your creations with skulls and flowers celebrating the Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead.
I'm sure we each have a different way of looking at this theme, and that's the fun part, be creative and feel free to express your artistic ideas.
You can use any image for this challenge and we would LOVE to see all types of creations (ex. cards, scrap layouts, fat book pages, artist trading cards, tags, boxes, bags, 3D ~ Altered Art or any other crafting projects that have some form of paper on them). This is a month long challenge.

It is also Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween! Can you believe it!!!
You should have arrived here from Jean's Blog if you didn't, then follow the blog roll on the sidebar.
To see all the wonderful prizes please go here.
Here is my offering for today:

Image: Sugar Skull & Flowers Framed From Dilly Beans Stamps

 Back View

I altered and Altoids tin. Used acrylic red paint for the outside.
Colored the image with Copics and Prisma coloring pencils.
Added the image to the inside of the tin, the decided that it needed something more, that's when the glitter appeared.
Still wasn't happy, so I colored to flowers from the image, fussy cut then and created a 3D effect, Now I was happy with the inside.
colored and additional image for the backside and added some ribbon to the sides.
The skull embellies are made using air dry clay and once it was dried I colored them, glued them together and added them to the top of the shrine.
The base is a candlestick and the flowers are handmade with tissue paper.
Hope you like it!!!

Wonderful altering and recycling of the tin! The colours in your image are so vibrant and the 3D flowers were a great call. Clever use of the candlestick and those handcrafted skulls are an amazing element. Thanks for joining us at Recycle, Re-Purpose & Re-Invent. I look forward to seeing more of your art.
