Welcome to our new challenge at Poisoned Peas Please, an alternative art challenge blog.
The theme for the third challenge is :
Steampunk!
I'm sure we each have a different way of looking at this theme, and thats the fun part, be creative and feel free to express your artistic ideas.
You can use any image for this challenge and we would LOVE to see all types of creations (ex. cards, scrap layouts, fat book pages, artist trading cards, tags, boxes, bags, 3D ~ Altered Art or any other crafting projects that have some form of paper on them). This is a month long challenge.
Here is inspiration piece:
I used Little Lavinia image from Simply Betty Stamps, our sponsor.
I want to share some details from my Mixed Media Canvas:
For the background I used Portfolio Water Soluble Oil Pastels and Faber Castell Metallic Gel Sticks.
Added some details with black acrylic paint and used red and silver acrylic paint with my punchinella to create some contrast.
Distress the borders with Distress Ink (Vintage Photo and Broken China).
Stamped the border with Recollections and Tim Holtz stamps and Archival Ink (Jet Black).
The image was colored with Copics and Prisma Coloring Pencils.
The eye balloon was coated with Glossy Accent.
Used some embellishment from Tim Holtz Idea-ology line: Sprocket Gears, Game Spinners and Bookplates.
Hope you like it! I had lots of fun creating it.
Be sure to visit Poisoned Peas Please, you will find lots of inspiration and all the details and rules for this challenge.
